In the beginner level Funky course you will learn the different basic steps that are mixed in this style of dance such as jazz steps, break dance, hip hop, afro rhythms or contemporary dance. The Funky course will be very choreographed and fun where flexibility, rhythm and coordination will be worked on.

Funk is a style of dance music that emerged in the late 60s in New York. In Funk, jazz steps, break dance, Afro dance and even contemporary dance are mixed. His movements are very intense, cutting and expressive. In funky, as well as in hip-hop, steps from jazz, break dance, afro rhythms or contemporary dance are mixed. The movements, very choreographed and intense, are sharp and expressive, focusing mainly on the arms and trunk.
Funky refers to dance styles that are mainly danced to funk music. More specifically, they can be used for a group of street dance styles that originated in California in the 1970s, primarily pop and blocking. Although these specific dance styles have been incorporated into hip hop culture to some extent today, and are often seen danced to hip hop and electronic music, they are originally and still commonly danced to funk music.
